Graduate Mentorship Program
The Graduate Mentorship Program encourages employers in Prince Edward Island to hire and provide a post-secondary graduate with a valuable work experience and mentorship opportunity in their field of study.
Private sector employers operating in Prince Edward Island who can offer a post-secondary graduate with a one-year mentorship opportunity related to the individual's field of study.
Amount of Assistance
Eligible employers will receive a wage subsidy of up to 50% of employee wages. The minimum hourly wage to be considered will be $13.00 per hour and a maximum of $15.00 per hour. The employer must demonstrate the hourly wage meets the labour market standards for the work being performed. Mandatory Employer Related Costs (EI and CPP) are to be provided by the employer. The terms of the position must be full-time based on normal business operations up to a maximum of 40 hours per week for 52 weeks.
How Do I Apply?
Private sector employers seeking assistance under the Graduate Mentorship Program must obtain a copy of the employer application form, manually complete the form, and submit it to a local SkillsPEI office.
All applications received by SkillsPEI will be assessed based on evaluation criteria outlined in the application. Successful employer applicants will be contacted by telephone. Approved employers will then advertise the position and receive applications. Prior to interviewing and selection, SkillsPEI will advise employers which candidates meet program eligibility requirements. Please note, only those individuals whose eligibility has been confirmed by SkillsPEI may be interviewed or offered a position.
